Early Detection and Diagnosis of Breast Cancer
Early detection is the act of discovering a disease before it has fully developed. Diagnosis of disease is a process of identification of the nature of an illness or other problem by examination of the symptoms. Mammograms are used to detect the breast cancer at an early stage. If an abnormality is detected on a screening mammogram, the doctor may recommend for a diagnostic mammogram to further evaluate the abnormality. Breast ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of structures deep within the body.
