Miami is an International city at Florida’s south-eastern tip. The major port city of the Atlantic coast of south Florida in the south eastern United States is “Miami”. Forbes magazine ranked Miami as the “America’s Cleanest City”, in 2008 for its year round good air quality, clean drinking water, vast green spaces, clean streets and city wide recycling programs. Miami was ranked as the richest city in the United States, and the world’s seventh richest city in terms of purchasing power according to 2009 UBS study of 73 world cities.
Miami is nick named as the “Capital of Latin America” and the largest city with a Cuban American plurality. In the U.S., Miami has the third tallest skyline with over 300 high rises. The home to the largest concentration of most of the International banks and many large National and International companies is Downtown Miami. The major center for hospitals, medical centers, research institutes and biotechnology industries is the Civic Center.
In the world, for more than two decades, the Port of Miami, known as “Cruise Capital of the World” has been the number one cruise passenger port. It accommodates some of the world’s largest cruise ships and operations, and is the business port in both passenger traffic and cruise lines. After New York, Metropolitan Miami is a major tourism hub in the American South for International visitors, ranking number two in U.S.
